Zadok suffered from a parasitic worm infection, but had no allergies; Joshua suffers from hay fever, but hasn’t had worms. Do these parasites, which infect two billion people worldwide, somehow helps prevent allergies? Maybe. In one study, scientists found that when the immune system coexists with these worms, it produces molecules that also suppress allergic inflammation. »
